Bamboo Grove Retreat used to be originally called Gyatseling, which in local language (Bhutia) means a house in a bamboo grove. It was the residence of the late Chum Dorji Wangmo Barfongpa, an aristocrat lady and prominent social figure of Gangtok. The house has now been converted into a modern hotel offering spacious luxury rooms replete with all amenities to provide outstanding comfort amidst a blissful environment.
